What is a Scrivener table of contents? A Scrivener table of contents is a bit like an index at the back of a book, where readers can look up terms and cross reference them to page numbers. But a TOC is at the beginning of your book and it helps readers find and navigate to major sections and chapters.Compile now works with section types that you can apply to each type of document to determine what kind of formatting they get. The best part is that Scrivener now easily allows individual exceptions, which you can set in the Metadata pane of the Inspector, or in the Compile window.I find Scrivener’s default formatting perfectly serviceable for my needs, so very few tweaks were necessary. I like to set reading material in Georgia, with a decent line-spacing, for maximum readability. You can readily do that in Scrivener’s Compile Settings sheet, in the Formatting section.
